Statement

I create 2D art pieces and artists books, working with a diverse assortment of materials to communicate personal interests and resolve internal conflicts. My intent is to visually integrate and express universal relationships with earth, spirit and humanity, while inspiring viewers to consider their own connection to these paradigms.

Many of my art works include digitally collaged images that I meld with hand wrought surfaces applying appropriate contemporary printmaking and image transfer processes.  Inspiration for my assemblages frequently evolves from found objects, discarded bits and pieces that stimulate an association in my mind.

Bio

My artistic training has come from years of daily immersion working with mentor, professional artist Dorothy Simpson Krause.  For over a decade I managed Krause’s studio and assisted her in the development of processes and innovative art works. Currently I conduct artist’s workshops in own Marshfield studio, and by invitation at other venues.  This year I’ve been invited to give workshops at International Center of Photography, New York, NY; Center for Contemporary Printmaking in Norwalk CT; Art Complex Museum, Duxbury, MA; Attleboro Arts Museum, Attleboro, MA; and the BookArts Rountable, NJ. Each Mixed Media Printmaking workshop is focused on integrative processes between traditional and digital printmaking.

I am fortunate to be exhibiting in several art shows annually and represented by South Shore Art Center Gallery, Cohasset, MA and Priscilla Juvelis, Kennebunkport, ME.   My work was filmed for HG/TV’s That’s Clever program and in 2008 my dvd Beyond the Digital Print; was released.
