Statement

The beauty and splendor of the natural world and the interior landscape of personal experience and memory are the sources for my work.

My art is inspired by the energies and rhythms of the forces shaping our planet and our lives.  I am keenly aware that nature is always in a state of being and becoming, of destruction, regeneration, and change, and that these processes have accelerated in the 21st century along with seismic shifts in our global equilibrium and our cultural landscape.

My art-making also reflects experiences in my life and in the lives of others.  Everyday objects and places, home and neighborhood become the focus of exploration of the ordinary and of the extraordinary, of meaning and memory.
